Today’s World Heritage Site is the Amalfi Coast in Italy, which is said to be the most beautiful in the world.
Clinging to the steep cliffs, colorful towns dot the 30-kilometer coast of the Sorrentine Peninsula near Naples. This popular Italian resort offers a unique landscape of small coves surrounded by steep cliffs.
Amalfi is the central town on the Amalfi Coast. Its unique townscape is created by houses stretching out on the slopes of a mountain valley.
Enter an alley from the main street in the town, and you will find a maze of stairs along the slope of the mountain. When you exit the alley, you are rewarded with a spectacular view of the sea and the town from the heights.
